September 2 - September 21, 2008 Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill Hosts 4th Annual Chile Fest

Beginning Monday, September 2 and running through Sunday, September 21, Z'Tejas Southwestern Grill will be hosting Chile Fest '08. Valley residents are invited to tempt and test their taste buds with the various chile-infused dishes available on the Chile Fest menu offered at all four Valley locations. One dollar from every item on the menu, consisting of four entrees and a dessert, along with roasted chiles available for purchase, will benefit the Foundation for Blind Children, a local non-profit organization that serves as an essential resource for blind, visually impaired and multiply handicapped children, adults and their families throughout the Valley.

In order to not only give back to the community, but to local farmers as well, all chiles used during the twenty-day Chile Fest were purchased from local Valley farmers at Crooked Sky Farms in Glendale, Arizona.

The Chile Fest menu will also include Chipotle Peachy Raspberry Chocolate Torte with Cinnamon Vanilla whipped cream, the winning dessert from Valley resident Michel Wall who competed against other local chefs in the 2008 Chile Fest Dessert Contest in July. The Contest asked Valley foodies to create a dessert recipe featuring chiles for a chance to be featured on the Chile Fest menu.
