Trader Vic's Launches Ladies (Wahine) Nights with Event Including Contests and Entertainment, Plus New Happy Hour Specials 

Trader Vic's, the signature restaurant at Hotel Valley Ho, is launching Ladies (Wahine) Night May 15th from 4pm - 12am with live DJ

Foundation for Blind Children is the First Reseller of Cell Phone that "Reads" for the Blind

Constantly looking for updated technology that can help their students, friends and family members to further develop their skills and live a normal life, the Foundation for Blind Children recently became the only reseller of the Nokia N82, a cell phone with a 5 megapixel camera and software called the KNFB reader.

In order for a visually impaired person to read a document like anyone else, the phone is held above the document to be read, a photo is taken with the camera and the KNFB reader software uses its character recognition technology to read the document aloud. It not only reads printed documents, but also address labels, instruction manuals and it even recognizes U.S. currency.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's 10th Annual AZ's FINEST -- Plus a Variety of Upcoming Events from Honorees  

On Saturday, August 16, 2008, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will host their Tenth Annual

AZ's FINEST Event at The Ritz Carlton in Phoenix hosted by ABC 15's Katie Raml. The event will spotlight 20 of the Valley's most influential trendsetters, honoring their professional and charitable accomplishments. The AZ's FINEST honorees exemplify strong leadership qualities, are active in volunteer roles and have excelled in the Arizona business community.

The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction. Dinner will start at 7:30 p.m. followed by the honoree showcase and dancing.

Proceeds from AZ's FINEST will quickly translate into scientific advances. Ninety cents of every dollar raised is used to fund the science to find a cure for cystic fibrosis, the CF Care Centers at Phoenix Children's Hospital and the University Medical Center in Tucson.

Independent Film, Falling for Grace, # 1 at Harkins Camelview 5 

The grassroots independent romantic comedy Falling for Grace gained buzz across the Valley after a successful run in the Phoenix Film Festival - and now the festival sweetheart celebrates another triumph as the number one film at Harkins Camelview 5 during its opening weekend.

The film drew large crowds to Camelview, the only theater in the country currently showing the film, and attracted a wide variety of movie-goers, which has extended the showing to May 8, 2008.

Since being in Phoenix, writer/director/star Fay Ann Lee has received phone calls from major distributors requesting to see the film. The film attracts a diverse range of audience members by exploring topics that appeal to every American - issues such as self-respect, the importance of family and bridging/understanding different cultures.
